Liverpool have high hopes for the futures of Kaide Gordon Ben Doak and Fabio Carvalho.
That’s according to a report from Goal, who claim that the Reds view the trio as being ‘potentially significant’ players for them in the future.
Featured in an article about Liverpool’s attacking options, it appears that all three are viewed as being part of Liverpool’s next generation of forwards.
Liverpool well-stocked for the future
There has been a lot of hype surrounding Liverpool’s new forward options over the last few days. And rightly so. The 7-0 demolition of Manchester United last week highlighted just how excited Reds fans should be.
In a week where it was revealed that Roberto Firmino will leave the club, it felt like a changing of the guards.
Both just 23-year-old, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo clearly represent the future for Liverpool. Chuck in 26-year-old pair Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz, and you can potentially see Jurgen Klopp’s next great forward line.
But look a little deeper, and you can even possibly see his next one after that.
Prior to the last couple of weeks, Liverpool’s season didn’t have all too many positives. The team underperforming and key players badly out of form, the campaign looked like a write off.
As we know, things have turned around markedly since mid-February. But even so, one of the real bright spots of 2022/23 has been the emergence of young Ben Doak.
Already a first-teamer at barely seventeen, the Scottish youngster has announced himself as one to watch in the years to come. Before him Gordon did the same. Although injury has ruined what was supposed to be a big year for him, expect the 18-year-old to return to the fold very soon.
And then there’s Carvalho. Quite why the 20-year-old has fallen out of favour quite so dramatically right now is up for debate. But although it’s been a tough year for him, the Portuguese prospect has still shown that he can have a good career at Liverpool. As he gets to grips with what Klopp expects from him, he’s only going to get better. Three brilliant youngsters who we’re lucky to have at the club.
