Sadio Mane makes claim about what Jurgen Klopp is about to do at Liverpool this season

Sadio Mane has claimed that he’s ‘convinced’ Jurgen Klopp will turn Liverpool’s poor form around this season.

The Reds have been way below par this season, out of both domestic cups and languishing in seventh place in the Premier League. A 5-2 defeat to Real Madrid last week also means they’re desperately unlikely to make it further in the Champions League.

But despite all that, former Red Mane has told Bild that Jurgen Klopp will lead Liverpool back to their glory days.

“Liverpool will be back. I’m convinced they will overcome this situation. They had many injuries and tough tests, but Jurgen Klopp is definitely the right man. He will lead Liverpool back up, from this season – the players love him,” said the now Bayern Munich star.

Nice to hear Sadio is still backing his old teammates and the man who brought him to Anfield back in 2016. We miss you, fella!

Mane speaks out on Liverpool form

Plenty of misguided pundits have attributed Liverpool’s drop-off this season to the departure of Mane last year.

The Senegal international had been one of the Reds very best players for six years. Over that time he turned himself into one of the best players in world football. He was always bound to leave a hole.

But there’s also another side to that argument. Mane is now thirty, has been injured for a large portion of this season and has also struggled to get going in Germany.

The African Footballer of the Year wasn’t exactly at his scintillating best during his last year or so at Liverpool either. As a result, we actually the Reds would be in near-enough the same position had Mane stayed on.

Still, that doesn’t mean we don’t miss him. Sadio was a huge, huge part of the most successful Liverpool team of a generation. His place in the club’s history is secure and he’s welcome back any time he likes.

In the meantime, his former teammates will be pleased to hear the backing of one of the most prominent players on the planet. Hopefully Mane himself can also put his struggles this year behind him and show his best side in Munich.
