Liverpool coaches have been seriously impressed by the work ethic shown by midfielder Arthur Melo recently, as he chases his return to full fitness.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim the 26-year-old has been doing extra training sessions at home, on top of working incredibly hard at Kirkby.
The Brazilian has missed the vast majority of the Premier League campaign due to a thigh tear.
He returned to first-team training on February 9, and he has since been doing double sessions several times a week, which have been laid out with the club and his personal team.
With this, it is said Liverpool’s coaches are very impressed by his attitude and the progress he has recently made.
Therefore, Arthur – who the Reds can sign permanently for £32m this summer – hopes to be involved tonight as Jurgen Klopp’s squad welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Anfield.
Liverpool coaches impressed by Arthur
With all of the effort Arthur is putting in behind the scenes, fans will be rooting for him to succeed when he’s handed an opportunity by Klopp.
The Juventus loanee played 90 minutes in Liverpool U21’s 7-1 win over Leicester City at the weekend, which left the youth side’s manager, Barry Lewtas, very impressed – again with his excellent attitude.
The Reds have struggled with their options in the middle of the park this season, and injuries like Arthur’s haven’t helped.
Therefore, with numerous players out of form, there’s no reason why the Brazilian shouldn’t be given a chance against Wolves tonight.
He is clearly determined to succeed at Anfield, and he is seemingly working harder than any other member of the midfield.
As a result, he should be awarded a cameo off the bench – with the potential to start in the next few weeks.
