Liverpool are interested in signing AC Milan winger Rafael Leao, and are considering a swap deal involving Luis Diaz.
That’s according to CalcioMercatoWeb, who claim the Reds are keen on bringing the Portugal international to Anfield, with the player worth between £106m – £132m.
As per the report, the Merseyside outfit may explore a swap deal involving Diaz.
With the Colombia international valued around £70m, Liverpool could offer the attacker and a large cash sum for Leao.
However, the Serie A outfit prefer a cash-only deal, despite the offer reaching Paolo Maldini’s valuation.
It is believed the 23-year-old has a £132m release clause in his current contract at the San Siro.
Liverpool want to sign Leao
With Leao having emerged as one of the most exciting talents in European football, it is no surprise to see the Reds join the queue to try and land his signature.
Chelsea co-owner and chairman Todd Boehly personally wants to sign the Milan winger, with 90min claiming he is an ‘enormous fan’ of the player. The same report suggests Tottenham are also incredibly interested in the 23-year-old.
Blues striker Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has hailed praise on the Portuguese star, claiming he’s an ‘incredible’ player – thus suggesting he’d be a brilliant addition to the Premier League.
However, whilst Leao would be an exceptional signing for Liverpool, the club will never sanction a move for Diaz.
Since arriving at Anfield, the Colombian has been one of the best players in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Hoping to return from injury very soon, the 26-year-old still has lots to prove on Merseyside – and fans are excited to see that.
Therefore, this makes an overall swap deal all the more unlikely.
