David Seaman has predicted that Liverpool will pick up a third Premier League win a row this weekend.
The Reds travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in the Saturday evening fixture. It’s a big game for Liverpool as they look to banish the disappointment of Tuesday’s 5-2 loss against Real Madrid.
And speaking to his Seaman Says podcast, former England goalie Seaman has backed Jurgen Klopp’s side to take the points.
“I think Palace will score, but I’m going to go 2-1 Liverpool,” predicted the 59-year-old.
Liverpool given chance to put pressure on
Liverpool are a hard side to predict at the moment. You just don’t know which version of them is going to turn up.
To be fair, the same can probably be said of Palace at the moment, too. Without a Premier League win since New Year’s Eve, that might sound like a silly thing to say.
But in the games since then. Patrick Vieira’s team have picked up credible draws with Manchester United, Newcastle and Brighton.
Palace were also desperately close to an impressive win away to Brentford last weekend. Only a last-minute equaliser from Vitaly Janelt denied them the three points.
So, Liverpool will have to be careful. At the very least Palace are very much due a win.
Having picked up two of those back-to-back, Liverpool will feel they can make it a hat-trick for only the second time in the league this season.
If they can, the Reds could be as high as sixth in table. With Newcastle not playing this weekend and Tottenham facing Chelsea, it’s a good chance to put pressure on those above them.
After a good couple of weeks, Tuesday’s result will have put some fans in a pessimistic mood. But we’re with Seaman here, we think Liverpool will just about have enough. Just don’t get sent off again Darwin, please.
