Real Madrid fans were directing their chants at Liverpool supporters when the full-time whistle blew tonight, as Jurgen Klopp’s side fell to a 5-2 defeat.

Despite a calamitous performance in the second half saw the Reds crumble defensively, the home support at Anfield remained as loud as ever.
This was matched by Los Blancos supporters, who directed their shouts towards the exiting Merseyside fans at full-time.
As Anfield’s home support headed for the exits, Madrid fans chanted ‘Liverpool’ – swiftly followed by huge applause for the Reds faithful.

Regardless of the score, the support within Anfield tonight was always going to be absolutely electric.
Before the game, the crowd were incredibly vocal, demonstrating why Liverpool are known for their famous European nights.
This continued throughout the match – even when the Reds started to fall apart.
This was great to see from the home support, as it was the only thing holding the team together at times tonight.
Madrid fans were loud as always this evening, as previously shown during the numerous continental clashes between the two heavyweights which have been held in recent years.
Perhaps they felt sorry for the Anfield crowd, empathetic to see the opposition crumble so rapidly.
Either way, despite the result, Liverpool fans were class again tonight.
