The agent of Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has claimed his client is receiving a lot of transfer interest, but he won’t ever join another Italian club.
This is positive news for Liverpool, as he seemingly leaves the door open to a move abroad. The Reds have previously been credited with an interest in the 22-year-old by CalcioMercato.
Speaking with CalcioNapoli24, as relayed by journalist Fabrizio Romano, Kvaratskhelia’s agent revealed he is yet to receive a new proposal from Napoli, despite recent speculation.
“There’s lot of interest from many clubs but he’s only focused on Napoli — he loves the club and the city, he won’t join any other Italian club,” he said.
“We’ve not received new deal proposal yet.”
Kvaratskhelia could move abroad
Having only arrived in Naples last summer in a deal worth £9m, Kvaratskhelia has sensationally bagged 11 goals and 14 assists in 23 appearances for the club.
The Georgia international has taken the European football scene by storm, for which the Italian embassy in his native country hailed his form as ‘extraordinary’.
The attacker really impressed Jurgen Klopp with an assist in the Champions League against Liverpool, during their 4-1 battering of the Merseyside outfit.
Since then, the Reds have been touted with interest in the youngster.
However, Napoli have made Kvaratskhelia unavailable for transfer. As a result, it is believed a fee in excess of £100m would be needed to pry him away from Serie A.
With such huge talent, this wouldn’t be an outrageous transfer for Liverpool to make.
However, with FSG’s current reluctance to dip into the market, it remains an unrealistic possibility.
