Chelsea keeping an eye on key Liverpool man's current situation, they'd love to have him

Chelsea are keeping a close eye on Jurgen Klopp’s situation at Liverpool in case he suddenly becomes available.

Klopp has come under pressure recently as Liverpool struggle to hit previous heights in the Premier League. Despite that, suggestions that the manager could either be sacked or walk away have been rightfully rubbished.

But according to journalist Simon Phillips, this hasn’t stopped Chelsea from keeping abreast of the situation. Speaking to Give Me Sport, Phillips said that if anything were to change for Klopp, the Blues would likely be interested.

“I think Klopp, if he did become available, he would appeal to Chelsea’s hierarchy just purely because of who he is, what he’s done and what he’s proven,” said the journalist.

“Chelsea would probably have an eye on that.”

Look all you want Mr Boehly, because that’s all you’ll be doing. Someone wind this guy in!

Get out of here, Todd!

If Todd Boehly wants to try and lure Jurgen away from Liverpool, then he’s more than welcome to try. You can only imagine how that conversation would go.

Although they haven’t been the main source of his ire during his time at Anfield, Klopp certainly isn’t a fan of Chelsea’s spending habits. It’s something he’s even spoken publicly about.

But Boehly and his partner in crime Behdad Eghbali don’t half have a couple of brass necks on them.

They seem to think that everything and everyone is fair game. No matter how unassailable a target may appear, he’s get-able. You just have to wish it hard enough. Or rather, throw enough money at them.

Thankfully for Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp can’t be bought. He’ll likely end up at another club once he eventually leaves the Reds, but it won’t be Chelsea.

Between then and now there’s plenty of work for Jurgen still at Liverpool, though. We’re lucky that the big man hasn’t lost any of his energy and enthusiasm for the club despite the recent turbulence. Who knows what Chelsea will pull off in the transfer market this summer. One thing’s for sure though, this is one battle they won’t win.
