Former Reds player Jose Enrique was amazed by the Liverpool fans inside Anfield for the Merseyside derby last night.
Taking to Twitter, the former defender shared a video of Jurgen Klopp celebrating in front of the home support, where he punched the air in elation – for the first time in a while.
“We been missing this from Klopp,” Enrique captioned the clip. “I’m sure a lot more to come from him this season!”
In the same Tweet, he took time to praise the Anfield crowd, who were booming throughout the entire match against Everton.
“World class atmosphere as well,” he added. “Best fans in the world.”
Anfield atmosphere works wonders for Liverpool
At times this season, fans have been visibly and audibly frustrated at Anfield – and fairly so.
The Reds have been woeful on occasions, with the level nowhere near where it needs to be for a club like Liverpool to succeed.
However, with a huge match-up coming up in the Merseyside derby, the Reds faithful were always going to be out in full force inside Anfield.
Alike those famous European nights, the crowd could be heard singing throughout, relentlessly cheering the Liverpool squad on.
This added a sense of fearlessness and danger when the Reds were on the attack, making it far more difficult for the Everton defence to concentrate.
Having shown just how important the fans are to the side’s success on the pitch, the club will urge supporters to keep the atmosphere up.
Therefore, if this happens, the win over the Toffees last night could prove instrumental in the team’s campaign.
Not only for the Premier League, but the Champions League also – where Liverpool face Real Madrid in the round of 16 next week.
