However, he also went on to share an update on the 17-year-old attacker, who has been extremely impressive for Jurgen Klopp’s first-team this season.

Having missed the last three games with a minor muscle injury, Doak is expected to be back in training by the weekend.

Doak set to return to training

This will come as a big boost to Liverpool, with Klopp short of attacking options to bring off the bench at the moment.

As Jota has been out of action for months, the Reds will be careful with integrating him back into the side.

Luis Diaz still remains on the sidelines, and Roberto Firmino has also only just made his return to training, but he’s yet to be back with the squad.

Therefore, Doak is sure to make a return to the Anfield bench.

The U21 Scotland international has been included in Klopp’s matchday squad for four of their last seven Premier League games.

Every time the youngster has graced the pitch, he hasn’t shown any fear, illustrating his drive to attack the opposition goal.

Liverpool teammate Andy Robertson claims the teenager has been ‘unbelievable’ in training this season, certainly warranting his call-up to the senior side.

Therefore, news of his return will be welcomed by Klopp.
