Pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham is far more likely to join Manchester City than he is Liverpool.
Speaking on TalkSPORT, the former Aston Villa striker said it’s ‘impossible’ for the Reds to land the 19-year-old if they don’t qualify for the Champions League this season.
“The problem is you’ve been linked with Bellingham and Liverpool fans want Bellingham in, but he’s not even gonna look twice at coming to Liverpool,” Agbonlahor said.
“He’s gonna choose Manchester City, Real Madrid – all the other teams, if you’re not playing in the big competitions.”
“Do you think [Liverpool] can get Bellingham?” co-host Jamie O’Hara asked.
“Impossible, impossible,” Agbonlahor responded.
Agbonlahor says Bellingham will pick Man City over Liverpool
At the moment, we are finding it difficult to see why Bellingham would want to make the move to Anfield.
On the pitch, Liverpool are a complete shambles. In no area do the Reds look good – perhaps in goal, but otherwise not.
The team currently sit tenth in the Premier League, and they are showing no signs of pushing up the table anytime soon.
Off the pitch, the club seem equally as disorganised.
With FSG having put the Reds up for sale, everything is in limbo.
The owners are more than reluctant to give Jurgen Klopp the funds needed to build a squad capable of competing with the likes of Man City.
In addition to this, there have been reports of disillusionment behind the scenes at Kirkby.
Therefore, if Liverpool are to have any chance of signing Bellingham, who has been labelled an ‘unbelievable’ player, it will be due to the history of the club – rather than anything else.
