Report: Liverpool gem Kaide Gordon could leave the club in the summer

Liverpool youngster Kaide Gordon could leave the club on loan in the summer, according to Neil Jones’ report for GOAL.

The 18-year-old has missed over a year of action due to a severe pelvic injury, having played his last game for the Reds in January 2022.

The winger is now said to be a few weeks away from returning to action, as the club have been ‘cranking up’ his sessions at the AXA Training Centre.

By the time he’s getting back to full fitness, there will still be a few months left of the season.

Therefore, the Merseyside outfit could look to loan Gordon out in the summer.

This would give him a whole season to climatise to the rigours of first-team football, having missed an important year with the Reds.

Gordon to leave on loan in the summer?

This would be a great move for the teenager, as he looks to get up to speed in order to fight for a spot in Jurgen Klopp’s first-team squad.

Prior to his injury, Gordon made four appearances for the senior side, during which he managed to score in an FA Cup clash – becoming the club’s youngest ever scorer in the competition.

Following this, Klopp lavished praise on the youngster, claiming his finishing is ‘exceptional’.

Hailed as a natural goal-scorer, Gordon will need to get back playing regularly if he is to regain his clinical nature in the final third.

With this in mind, the 18-year-old could do with a season-long loan next term, having just had a few months back playing with the academy. Furthermore, it will give him time in the summer to train with the Reds’ first-team squad.

Therefore, this is arguably the best course of action for Gordon’s career.
