Report: What Mohamed Salah was spotted doing when the final whistle blew after losing to Brighton yesterday

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah was spotted trudging slowly down the tunnel after losing to Brighton in the FA Cup yesterday.

As per the Echo, the Reds may have an even bigger issue on their hands after questions emerged in the wake of the final whistle being blown at the Amex Stadium on Sunday.

Firstly, it was Mohamed Salah, then Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones who started the slow walk down the tunnel. Naby Keita and Fabinho trailed close behind, before Thiago Alcantara and Ibrahima Konate were shortly followed by the rest of the Merseyside squad.

The team looked somewhat downbeat and uninspired as they trudged towards the exit.

However, they did not look like a squad who had just been knocked out of the FA Cup – a competition they won just last season.

Furthermore, you would barely be able to tell this was a Liverpool team who had just experienced their ninth loss of a disastrous season.

It appeared that the result didn’t even hurt that much at all.

This is an unexpected reaction from a side led by Jurgen Klopp.

Salah first down the tunnel

With Liverpool’s best chance of the game, the 30-year-old dragged his shot wide of the far post, after Harvey Elliott had played a beautifully weighted ball through to him.

For Salah, this season has probably been his most underwhelming in a Reds shirt.

Although he has bagged seven goals in six Champions League fixtures this term, he has only managed to score seven goals in 19 Premier League appearances.

This could understandably be a blip in the Egyptian’s form, meaning he is going through a dry spell in front of goal. However, his overall play on the pitch hasn’t been up to his usual standards.

He doesn’t appear to be much of a threat on the right-wing, and he is largely absent in build-up play.

Liverpool are going through a really tough time at the moment, and this goes hand-in-hand with Salah.

Hopefully the Anfield star can get firing back to his usual standards soon, as Klopp will be counting on him to drag his side out of this mess.
