Stefan Bajcetic’s recent impressive run in the Liverpool team is set to earn him a new contract at Anfield.
That’s according to The Daily Mail, who claim that the 18-year-old is in-line for an ‘improved and extended deal.’
Bajcetic has started Liverpool’s last two games, helping the Reds to back-to-back clean sheets. Jurgen Klopp is clearly an admirer of the midfielder and is said to see him as being a ‘big part’ of the club’s future.
As a result, a new contract is reportedly coming Bajcetic’s way. No further details are given in terms of wage structure or length of the new deal.

Bajcetic emerges from the darkness
This is certainly well-earned for Bajcetic. At the start of the season he wouldn’t have even been in the majority of supporter’s thinking.
But pre-season changed all that. He was impressive during Liverpool’s tour of Asia, marking himself out as one to watch for the new campaign.
The likes of Isaac Mabaya and Luke Chambers also looked good while the Reds were out on tour. While those two have failed to push on into the first team though, Bajcetic has gone from strength to strength.
He has undoubtedly been helped by Liverpool’s poor form throughout the campaign. Issues in midfield have meant that the young Spaniard has been given chances in a bid to change things up.

But you still have to take those chances. As Klopp said after the Chelsea game on Saturday, Bajcetic has ‘run through the door.’ Preston North End boss Ryan Lowe called him ‘fantastic,’ claiming he’d love to sign him on-loan next season.
With Liverpool’s midfield set to undergo major surgery this summer, the former Celta Vigo youngster has put himself in the picture to stick around, though. Should he develop in the way he looks capable of, he can be a genuine part of the squad for years to come.
That should take the pressure off a little as Klopp looks to bring in replacements for his ageing stars.
It’s important not to expect too much from Stefan. From what we’ve seen so far though, he’s the real deal. A new contract would be completely, thoroughly deserved. Keep up the good work young man!
