Thiago spots 'very rare' quality in 'great talents' coming through at Liverpool

Thiago says Liverpool have some ‘great talents’ coming through right now. He’s seen a ‘very rare’ quality in there.

Thiago believes there are several ‘great talents’ coming through at Anfield right now. The Spaniard talked after Liverpool’s 0-0 draw with Chelsea about the state of the squad.

He feels the future is bright. The likes of Stefan Bajcetic have certainly caught the eye recently – Jurgen Klopp handed him a Premier League start against the Blues on Saturday.

Thiago believes it’s not just Bajcetic who holds a ‘very rare’ quality for a player his age, however.

“We have great talents coming through,” said Thiago, per the Liverpool Echo. “Not just Stefan, all the boys who are training with us and play with us.

“They have this maturity that is very rare for people of 18, 19 or 20 years old. They’re doing great, not just in training but also in games.”

Thiago on the Liverpool youngsters

It’s a fantastic thing to hear from a player as experienced and talented as Thiago. He’s played with some of the best young players in the world at both Barcelona and Bayern Munich, seeing the standards at the very top.

So for him to recognise that ‘very rare’ maturity in the teenagers at Liverpool is wonderful. Not that it’s exactly a surprise. Harvey Elliott, to mention one, frequently sounds like a seasoned pro, rather than a 19-year-old still finding his way in the game.

James Milner once said he sounded like a 30-year-old when battling back from injury.

Liverpool must seek that maturity out, quite frankly. It’s a magnificent trait for any youngster to have and it appears the Reds have a selection of talents coming through who boast it.

And when they do break through, they get to learn from players like Thiago. Players who earn £200k per week, says Capology, and who have reached the game’s pinnacle and remained there for a decade.

It’s a great setup and one that should help Liverpool provide an exciting new generation at Anfield.
