Former Liverpool player Don Hutchison has slammed the suggestion that Liverpool should sack manager Jurgen Klopp.
During a show for BBC Radio 5 Live Sport, Chris Sutton and Robbie Savage faced a caller who wanted the Reds boss out of the club.
Absolutely appalled at the idea, Hutchison took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the situation.
“He wants to sack Jurgen Klopp,” he said.
“For all he has done for LFC (Shankly like) and replace him with a manager who has won zero major trophies [Mauricio Pochettino].
“You can’t make this up.
“How about back and fund Klopp with Rice and Bellingham.”
Hutchison slams suggestion Klopp should be sacked
Hutchison is absolutely bang-on here.
Although a number of performances this season can be blamed on the manager, he is certainly not the biggest problem Liverpool have at the moment.
For years, Klopp has worked wonders with what he’s been given.
Competing with the likes of Manchester City, the Reds have enjoyed huge success with just a fraction of the budget.
After years of being stretched far too thin, Liverpool are now suffering the consequences.
Therefore, it is clear that a lack of investment in the squad over the past few years has been the main barrier to achieving continued success.
Fenway Sports Group are the guiltiest party for this, and if this caller is demanding somebody should leave the club, it should really be them.
Many supporters would prefer to keep Klopp over the entire Liverpool squad, illustrating just how crucial he is to the club – despite any struggles they may be experiencing right now.
