Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez could now miss Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Brighton and Hove Albion, according to journalist Paul Joyce and The Times.
The Uruguay international has been absent from Kirkby training for a number of days with an unspecified issue.
Although indications have suggested that the problem isn’t too serious, the 23-year-old is a doubt for Saturday’s away clash on the south-coast.

The Reds then face Wolverhampton Wanderers in an FA Cup replay on Tuesday, for which it is unclear whether Nunez will be fit for.
As a result, it is believed new signing Cody Gakpo could play through the middle.
Nunez could miss Brighton away
This will come as a massive blow to Jurgen Klopp, who is already without attackers Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.
Having established himself as the Reds’ first-choice striker, Gakpo may now need to come in and play an alternative position: up-front.
If Roberto Firmino is still out, that only really leaves Mohamed Salah as a regular option out wide.

Instead, the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho could be moved onto the wing until Nunez is back available.
Furthermore, if Curtis Jones is deemed fit enough, he could also slot in on the left-side.
Although this would leave a shortage of players in the midfield, a couple of players mentioned could be rotated in the middle of the park.
Either way, this is a huge blow for Klopp.
