Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has hailed new signing Cody Gakpo, claiming he will be a quality option in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
Speaking with the club’s official website, the Brazilian claims he has been very impressed with the 23-year-old, having watched him play for PSV Eindhoven and the Netherlands.
“It’s really important that a player of this quality arrived to help the team,” Fabinho said.
“We know what he’s capable of doing. He did a really good World Cup and in the Dutch league he was one of the best players.

“Now I think he wants to show he can do the same thing at this level as well, in a club like LFC.
“We will try to help him adapt as quick as possible and we hope he will be really helpful for us because we need a player like this.”
Gakpo made his debut for the club in last week’s FA Cup clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Fabinho full of praise for Gakpo
Starting on the left-wing, the Netherlands international played 84 minutes as Liverpool were held to a 2-2 draw by Wolves.
Having shown promising link-up play with Darwin Nunez, the 23-year-old made a strong start to his Anfield career.
He even played a clever ball which caused the Old Gold defence huge problems, which ultimately led to Mohamed Salah’s goal.

With injuries to Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz, the arrival of Gakpo will alleviate Klopp’s issues going forward.
Furthermore, with the ability to play anywhere across the front line, this will allow for positional changes, which the Reds can use tactically.
The Merseyside outfit have needed that injection of life into the side, and hopefully the arrival of Gakpo can provide that.
If Liverpool can bring in a midfielder to go with him, this would have been a decent window for the club.
