Liverpool target Teun Koopmeiners scored an incredible goal for Atalanta tonight. The Reds could get him for £35m.

Reports in recent days claim Liverpool want Teun Koopmeiners. In fact, Tutto Altalanta claims there have been talks with his agents about potentially signing the player.

Well, if Liverpool are watching, they’ll be weighing up a bid after Monday evening. Koopmeiners scored a sensational equaliser for Atalanta in a game against Bologna.

With his side trailing, the 24-year-old picks up the ball around 35 yards from goal. He doesn’t exactly take it far before unleashing an unstoppable strike that flies past the goalkeeper.

It’s a brilliant hit – the kind of thing Liverpool are missing from their midfielder right now. So, are we going to see a bid?

Teun Koopemeiners goal

The reports claim that Liverpool must offer around £35m in order to get him. Atalanta won’t consider less – despite paying just £10m for him 18 months ago.

But that’s a sign of how far Koopmeiners has come. He’s an established international now and a player who offers a bit of everything in midfield. We’d love to see him at Anfield, even before this goal.

And anyone who has watched Liverpool this season knows that this kind of aggression from midfield is exactly what’s been lacking. Someone willing to grab the game for themselves and fire his team back into it.

We can only hope that Atalanta aren’t about to raise his price beyond even £35m, in fact. Koopmeiners is hardly a player they’ll want to lose and suggestions are that they plan on keeping him until the end of the season.

Liverpool’s desperation to boost their midfield might see a battle break out, though. After all, £35m for a 24-year-old who can strike the ball that cleanly doesn’t seem like a bad deal at all.
