New Liverpool signing Cody Gakpo has now shared what went wrong for the Reds as they were held to a draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Cup last night.
After a period where it looked like Jurgen Klopp’s side were going to capitalise on their one-goal advantage, things seemed to fall apart again, with Hwang Hee-chan equalising in the 66th minute.
Gakpo spoke to the club’s official site after the game, sharing his thoughts on how the Merseyside outfit played on his Reds debut.

“I think we played in phases really good football but in the end we didn’t score enough, so that’s a pity,” he said.
“But I think we showed what we could do, but we can still improve on some points and let’s work on that. I think we showed real team spirit at moments, so that’s good.
“I think we have to go there [Molineux] with great determination and just go for the win.”
Gakpo says there were positives and negatives
Having joined the club last week in a deal worth £44m, the Netherlands international has seemingly impressed since having arrived at Kirkby.
With Klopp claiming the 23-year-old has looked very ‘promising’ and that his ‘first impressions of him are brilliant’, the former PSV Eindhoven winger was thrown straight into the starting XI last night.
Confident on the ball and looking sharp with his touch, Gakpo put in a strong performance on his Liverpool debut.

The pass for Mohamed Salah’s goal was picked out extremely well, so the Dutchman should be proud of his display.
As a team, a lot was left to be desired. Therefore, it is imperative the Reds hit the ground running as they return for the FA Cup replay at the Molineux.
Otherwise, that will be the last realistic chance of silverware gone this season.
