Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita was absent from team training today, according to journalist Neil Jones.
New signing Cody Gakpo was pictured alongside his Merseyside teammates for the first time, whilst captain Jordan Henderson was also present after recovering from a concussion.

As well as Keita, both James Milner and Roberto Firmino were also seemingly absent from the session.
However, it is the Guinea international who comes as the biggest surprise, given he came on a substitute as the Reds loss 3-1 to Brentford on Monday.
Keita absent from training today
If the reason for the 27-year-old’s absence is another issue with injury, this will come as a huge blow to Jurgen Klopp, who has only just got the midfielder back to fitness.
Rendered unavailable for the vast majority of the campaign due to various hamstring and muscle injuries, Keita only made his first appearance in the league this season against Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
Following this, the former RB Leipzig man came off the bench in the two most recent top-flight fixtures, including for the entire second half against the Bees.

Keita is out of contract at the end of the season, and a lack of fitness doesn’t bode well towards earning an extension.
Having been hailed by Jurgen Klopp as ‘outstanding’, everyone at Anfield seems to be really fond of the midfielder.
Therefore, a potential injury will come as a major blow to his Liverpool career – which could come to an end this summer.
