Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott has been ranked as one of the most exciting prospects in world football.

FourFourTwo have now released their rankings for ‘the 50 most exciting teenagers’ in the sport.

Whilst Reds target Jude Bellingham comes in on top of the list, a current Liverpool player actually features in the top ten.

Positioned all the way up in ninth, Harvey Elliott has been deemed one of the best prospects in world football.

Having joined the Merseyside outfit as a 16-year-old in a deal initially worth £1.5m, the attacking midfielder has gone from strength to strength under Jurgen Klopp’s guidance.

Having overcome a major ankle injury towards the end of last season, Klopp has now thrown the 19-year-old into the deep end.

With numerous absences in various areas of the pitch this term, the former Fulham academy talent has found himself starting week-in, week-out for the Reds.

Thus far in the 2022/23 campaign, the U21 England international has astonishingly made 26 appearances. This even includes 17 matches in the Premier League, and a further six in the Champions League.

Elliott has done exceptionally well in the middle of the park for Liverpool, having demonstrated his outstanding technical ability and his keen eye for a defence-splitting pass.

However, the teenager has sometimes struggled with the raw physicality and with the rapid pace of the senior game.

This has proven slightly problematic at times when it is has been evident he has needed to be rested. With various injuries at the club this term, this hasn’t always been possible, and the youngster has had to play.

Therefore, going forward, if Klopp is going to get the best out of Elliott – whose potential is huge – then he will need to be eased into games more, and he needs to be played in his preferred position.
