A report explains what those in transfer circles understand Liverpool want to do in 2023. The Reds have a plan but it isn’t a reliable one.
This comes from the Telegraph. They claim that ‘those in transfer circles’ understand Liverpool have a plan in 2023.
That plan is, unsurprisingly, to sign Jude Bellingham. But the understanding is that the Reds will ‘pile all of their chips’ on the England international.
That implies that they will do nothing that could risk that deal. Signing Bellingham is 100 per cent the goal and will allow other deals to pass them by as they wait for an answer there.

Will they regret that, though?
Liverpool in the transfer market in 2023
It is an enormous risk. There’s really no guarantee whatsoever that Bellingham will choose Liverpool and few would be surprised if he ended up at Real Madrid or Manchester City.
And then what? Players like Enzo Fernández will likely be elsewhere. Declan Rice and Sofyan Amrabat, others linked with the Reds, could move before Bellingham picks, too.
If that does happen, Liverpool will be in a nightmare situation and one without an easy fix. But that’s the overwhelmingly negative way of looking at it.
The positive is that Liverpool do feel they can sign Bellingham. They also believe he’s a player worth setting everything else aside for and that’s undeniably exciting. If Liverpool can get him in 2023, it would be arguably the biggest coup in the club’s history.

But they’re playing a dangerous game. Get this one wrong and it could well set things back a couple of years, given another Bellingham won’t come around anytime soon.
We’ll just have to hope that Liverpool get this one right. Cross your fingers and anything else you can because the Reds are going all-or-nothing here.
