Contract talks with Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita have dwindled in recent months, according to journalist Paul Gorst.
Taking to a QnA for the Liverpool Echo, the reporter was questioned about the 27-year-old’s deal. Currently, the former RB Leipzig man is out of contract at the end of June.

“Not heard much on Keita’s contract situation for a while now actually,” said Gorst.
“I know Ward met Keita’s agent in Spain over the summer but given he has been injured until recently, I’d suggest Klopp would want to see the No.8 earn any new deal.
“I think it might be best for both parties to part ways in all honesty this summer.”
Keita could leave Liverpool this summer
Having arrived at Anfield in a deal worth £53m, there were high hopes for Keita.
Whilst there have been glimpses of brilliance from the Guinea international, his overall tenure on Merseyside has been plagued by injuries.
In nearly five-and-a-half-years at the club, the midfielder has played just 121 times for Liverpool.
Thus far this season, the 27-year-old has only been unable to make three Premier League appearances, as he has been unavailable due to hamstring and muscle injuries.

Jurgen Klopp is certainly a big fan of Keita’s, having lauded him as ‘outstanding’ last term.
Despite this, there must come a point when the club have to weigh-up cutting their losses.
If the player can demonstrate he can maintain his fitness, the Reds will have a difficult decision to make.
However, this isn’t the case at the moment, meaning there is a real chance Keita could leave the club in the summer.
