Prior to the World Cup, Liverpool were exploring a £44m move to sign Eintracht Frankfurt forward Randal Kolo Muani.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who report that the Reds, Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich all ‘knocked on the door’ of the Bundesliga club about the Frenchman.
Ahead of the World Cup, it was said that Frankfurt valued the 24-year-old at £44m. However, as soon as the striker was called up to replace the injured Christopher Nkunku, that fee shot up to £53m.
After an impressive start to the campaign, this price-tag is expected to skyrocket – especially if this form is maintained over the second half of the season.
As a result, the German outfit want to make Muani their biggest sale of all time. This would mean surpassing Luka Jovic’s £53m move to Real Madrid.
However, it is thought that the player remains committed to Frankfurt.

Having joined Frankfurt on a free transfer over the summer, the Frenchman has since bagged eight goals and 11 assists in 23 appearances for the club.
As a result, he has been statically ranked as the side’s best player this term, having averaged an impressive 7.25 match rating. Furthermore, Muani leads Oliver Glasner’s team for key passes and dribbles produced per game.
As comparisons go, the forward has received one of the very best. According to the Bundesliga’s official site, the Frenchman plays like Thierry Henry. They compare their pace and skilful trickery on the ball, as well as their dribbling style and rapid turn of speed.
Scoring in the semi-final of the World Cup, Frankfurt are sure to have increased their asking price for Muani, who certainly impressed for Didier Deschamps’ side.
