Liverpool target Youssoufa Moukoko has made an £8.8m demand, according to reports. It’s one Borussia Dortmund refuse to match.

This comes from Sky Germany. They claim that Youssoufa Moukoko looks almost certain to leave Borussia Dortmund this year.

The teenager is out of contract in the summer and doesn’t appear all that close to signing a new one. Moukoko had always said he would but Sky report that he wants an £8.8m signing-on fee.

That’s too much for Dortmund. They aren’t willing to pay that and it seems there’s no way back. Especially as their offer of £2.6m per year in salary is far below the £4.4m Moukoko wants.

One of the world’s best teenagers will be off for free, it seems.

The Times recently claimed that Liverpool are one of the clubs looking to pick Moukoko up. After all, he’s a wonderfully talented teenager who won’t cost a transfer fee.

Though, we’re unsure that the Reds will meet these demands. Especially if Roberto Firmino remains at the club, keeping Liverpool well-stocked in forwards.

At the same time, Moukoko is a ‘crazy’ prospect. That’s how Emre Can labelled him shortly after he moved to Dortmund. There really aren’t many on his level, certainly not at 18.

The striker even went to the World Cup with Germany and boasts six Bundesliga goals and three assists this season. He’d be a fantastic addition to any squad – if a club can meet his demands.

Barcelona are the most heavily linked but are they in any financial position to meet these demands? We’re not sure they are, unless they’re able to find another creative way to generate cash.

Liverpool might have a chance here, then. They will have the money, given several players of their own are out of contract this year. Now they must decide if Moukoko is worth it.
