Liverpool are exploring a deal to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes, according to The Telegraph.
After a move to Merseyside failed to come to fruition last summer, the Reds agreed that they would bid for him again – and that commitment has been reprised this month.

With the transfer expected to be around £44m, Nunes would likely make the switch to Anfield at the end of the campaign.
Having joined Wolves in a club-record £38m deal, this was completed with the view of moving elsewhere once he had become accustomed to the rigours of the Premier League.
Liverpool want Nunes again
Having made the move to the Midlands, Nunes has not yet lived up to the hype in the English game.
The midfielder has made 14 Premier League appearances this season, having only contributed one assist during this time. In only seven of these matches has the Portugal international completed the full 90 minutes.
However, before joining the Old Gold, Nunes was renowned for his huge potential.
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola once claimed the 24-year-old was ‘one of the best players in the world’, whilst Liverpool scouts thought he had the ‘perfect’ profile to slot into Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.

Whilst that talent hasn’t been lost overnight, Nunes is sure still yet to show his true quality in the Premier League.
Therefore, this transfer could be a gamble for the Reds to make.
With their sights set on Jude Bellingham, this may not be the best time to take a chance on a midfielder.
