Liverpool view Alexis Mac Allister as an ideal player for their midfield, according to reports. The Brighton star won the World Cup.
This comes from La Repubblica in Italy. They claim that Liverpool are on the growing list of suitors for Alexis Mac Allister.
Now, there’s little to suggest that Brighton would actually sell Mac Allister. That’s not stopping clubs from lining up to try and sign the World Cup winner, however.
Benfica and Borussia Dortmund supposedly lead the chase and it’s not difficult to figure out why. Enzo Fernández and Jude Bellingham could leave the two clubs, respectively, for enormous amounts of money in 2023.

Mac Allister would be a sensational replacement for each. However, giants are ready to rival the two clubs. Juventus are consistently named in the report as having a lot of interest, while Inter are also there. That makes sense, given the Italian outlet naming them.
But Liverpool are there, apparently viewing Mac Allister as an ideal addition to their midfield.
Liverpool eye Alexis Mac Allister
There’s no question whatsoever that Mac Allister would be a fantastic signing for Liverpool. Yes, we’d prefer Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernández. Both are players who command fierce competition from massive clubs, however.
Mac Allister shouldn’t jump ahead of either on Liverpool’s shortlist but he should absolutely be on there.
The Argentine is capable of playing both as a no.10 and in a deeper midfield role. The World Cup offered a perfect demonstration of his work-rate, too, as a part of a fantastically hard-working midfield.
Sergio Aguero came away from the tournament raving about Mac Allister.
“Mac Allister is another who had an incredible World Cup and it does not surprise me to read that he is already coveted by other teams. He is young and intelligent,” he said, per Sussex Live.

All of that and he’s proven in the Premier League, too. Yes, Brighton would want a small fortune to let him go but we’d love to have him.
If things go terribly in 2023 and neither Enzo or Bellingham lands in Liverpool, we’d love to see Mac Allister as an alternative.
