Liverpool have made contact about signing Enzo Fernández next, according to reports. The Reds secured Cody Gakpo this week.
This comes from 90min. They claim that Liverpool have been in contact with Jorge Mendes about signing Enzo Fernández in January.
That would make Enzo their second winter signing, of course. The Reds clinched Cody Gakpo from PSV Eindhoven this week in a £37m deal.
But their dealings may not end there. They’re one of three clubs – along with Manchester United and Chelsea – to be in contact over Enzo.

It’s a deal that wouldn’t exactly come cheap. Enzo has a release clause of over £100m and suggestions are that Benfica would want a team to meet it.
Convincing the player and any agents involved is a must, however.
Liverpool could be signing Enzo Fernández next
Liverpool certainly do need a new midfielder and Enzo would be a sensational addition. A very expensive one, yes, but a brilliant transfer all the same.
It seems this one will be a fight, though. United and Chelsea could use what Enzo brings as much as Liverpool. There’s the fact that the Reds want Jude Bellingham, too, that could maybe lead to some hesitation here.
We’d love to see Enzo at Anfield, though. It’s becoming more and more apparent that a winter transfer is possible, too, and could certainly use that boost to their midfield.

We’re just hesitant to believe that Liverpool would spend so much on Enzo with Bellingham still on the table. The amount of money necessary to sign both is incredible – and we’re not sure the Reds have it.
There wouldn’t be any bigger statement than signing both, we should say. Liverpool would fix their midfield in an instant and guarantee incredible strength for years. It’s just an enormous outlay for one year.
