Cody Gakpo gave his thoughts on Mo Salah this week after joining Liverpool. The Dutchman moves from PSV Eindhoven.
Liverpool confirmed Cody Gakpo as a new player late on Wednesday. The 23-year-old moves for around £37m – though it could be a few weeks before we see him.
Gakpo has a lot to work on from the get-go. There are suggestions that he must work on his defending to succeed at Liverpool, while he’ll also need to get to know his new teammates.
One of those teammates, Mohamed Salah, is particularly interesting to Gakpo. LFCTV asked him about playing with the Egyptian in his first interview for the club and it’s safe to say he’s excited.

“It’s really great [that he gets to play with Salah],” Gakpo explained. “He’s a fantastic player and I’m really looking forward to learning things from him and to see how he does things so I can also improve my game and that we can win a lot of games together.”
Cody Gakpo on Mo Salah
One of the major positives about having world-class players at the club is that they attract further talent. Salah is a wonderful example of that – he’s a player anyone would love to play alongside.
And what better player for Gakpo to learn from? Salah has nailed every single part of Jurgen Klopp’s system, thriving on an incredible scale since 2017.
The new signing couldn’t possible have a better blueprint for success. The fact he sees that already is a wonderful thing and we can’t wait to see the two play together.

In fact, the physicality they should bring on the wings will be incredible. Throw in Darwin Nunez and we’re not sure how any defence could contend with the pace and power up top.
And if Gakpo can learn anything from Salah, the Reds will look unstoppable.
