Cody Gakpo post gets a notable like on Instagram from £100m player linked with Liverpool

Moisés Caicedo raised eyebrows on Thursday as he liked a photo of Cody Gakpo with a Liverpool shirt. Caicedo has been linked with the Reds.

Moisés Caicedo made an interesting like on Instagram this week. He sent one to the official UEFA Champions League account after they posted an image of Cody Gakpo with his new Liverpool shirt.

Caicedo, of course, has been heavily linked with Liverpool himself. The Mirror are one of those to make the claim – the player could leave Brighton in 2023 and the Reds are in the mix.

Though, it’s worth mentioning that he’d likely cost around £100m to get him from the Seagulls. It wouldn’t be an easy transfer to make, either, with competition surrounding the situation.

Still, Caicedo appears to like the idea of players signing for Liverpool…

We’re big fans of Caicedo and believe he’d be a wonderful project player for Liverpool. He’s got all the traits to become a magnificent all-around midfielder for a top side.

All he really needs is the right coaching and Liverpool can virtually guarantee that. Given they also need to rebuild their midfield, we believe Caicedo must be on their shortlist.

Of course, the likes of Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernández will likely take precedence over the Ecuadorian. Should the Reds fail in both of those pursuits, though, we’d love to see them chase Caicedo.

As for his Instagram activity, it’s an interesting one. We doubt he’s actually hinting at a move to Liverpool here, or hinting at his desire to make the move. Still, he’s not shy at showing interest in what’s happening at Anfield.

So who knows? Perhaps Caicedo has a similar photo in 2023, should things land that particular way. We’d certainly like it ourselves.
