Liverpool like the look of Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile, according to reports. The teenager boasts a fantastic goal record.
This comes from the Mirror. They claim that Liverpool are one of five major clubs tracking Preston North End striker Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile.
The 16-year-old is making waves this season, with 18 goals in his last 10 games. He’s also a fairly unique player internationally, as he carries Argentinian, Brazilian and Spanish nationality.
Rodriguez-Gentile’s record this season is what really catches the eye, though. His 18 strikes include four hat-tricks and he bagged five in a single Youth Cup game against Rotherham.

The report mentions that Preston could soon bring him into their senior setup. Importantly, he has agreed a two-year scholarship with the club that officially starts in the summer.
It sounds like teams could try and pry him away from them before that even starts, however.
Liverpool track Felipe Rodriguez-Gentile
Liverpool certainly do like their prospects. We’ve seen a ton of fantastic talents join over the last few years and Rodriguez-Gentile would fit the profile they like.
But then, a young striker with 18 goals in 10 games would fit the bill anywhere. Liverpool will just hope their recent track record of developing kids would sway his attention their way.
After all, it seems inevitable that Preston lose a player like this. Premier League clubs struggle to hold onto their youngsters, let alone clubs outside of the top flight.

It sounds like they do have a strong position to hold onto Rodriguez-Gentile for the next little while, though. Potentially the next two years, should that scholarship hold.
But if Rodriguez-Gentile ends up being the real deal – and early signs are that he’s exactly that – then Liverpool will be involved. Just as they were for Harvey Elliott, Kaide Gordon, Bobby Clark, Ben Doak and many others in the academy right now.
