Journalist Ben Jacobs understands the latest Jude Bellingham reports are false. Liverpool remain in a strong permission.
Journalist Ben Jacobs took questions on Twitter this week where he briefly touched on Jude Bellingham. The Englishman is arguably the most in-demand player of 2023 – and Liverpool hope to sign him.
However, there were worrying reports in recent days that the Reds had fallen behind in the race. Bild, for instance, say that Real Madrid have managed to sway Bellingham their way.
Jacobs says that’s not true, though. He understands that Liverpool ‘remain confident’ they can sign Bellingham despite other interest.
“Not true Bellingham is wavering to Madrid,” said Jacobs. “Liverpool remain confident due to their strong relationship with player/family. Still an open race.”
The journalist had two other tidbits of info for Liverpool fans – there is interest in Enzo Fernández and we should hear more about investment news in January.
Jude Bellingham reports aren’t true
There will be plenty of back-and-forth until Bellingham commits to a new club. That’s just inevitable where you’ve got several countries involved and several major clubs.
Last week it was Liverpool, now it’s Real Madrid – perhaps next week it’s Chelsea. Maybe Manchester City. Manchester United? Paris Saint-Germain feel like an inevitable talking-point, too.
The reality is that we won’t truly know what’s happening until Bellingham actually decides on a club. One, because no one knows what will happen for sure and two, because the player himself likely doesn’t know.
He has several fantastic options, even if we believe Liverpool would truly be best for him. Now, there’s a ton of bias there but the Reds can give him a starring role and the privilege of working under Jurgen Klopp. We’re not sure anyone can make him a better player.
But we can only hope Bellingham sees it that way, too. Fingers crossed until we get an answer.
