Liverpool are interested in signing 22-year-old Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey.
That’s according to French outlet Jeunes Footeaux, who claim that the Reds are one of ‘several’ Premier League teams tracking the defender.
Chief among those is said to be Crystal Palace. The Eagles are reportedly the furthest ahead in their pursuit of Boey, and are ready to make an offer of around £14m. Lyon are also claimed to be big admirers of the Frenchman.
For their part, Galatasaray are said to be not especially inclined towards a sale. However, a ‘big offer’ could reportedly see them reluctantly agree to sell Boey.

Liverpool in the picture for Boey
This isn’t actually the first time that Liverpool have been rumoured to be hot on Boey’s trail. Back in October, Turkish outlet Fanatik claimed that the Reds were heavily scouting the young defender.
So, as a natural progression from that, it seems as though Liverpool’s interest has perhaps solidified.
From a logical point of view, it’s difficult to see why Jurgen Klopp would want to add another right-back to his squad. He has just signed Calvin Ramsay to be Trent Alexander-Arnold’s back-up. Joe Gomez is also handy there.
As a result, it is no longer a position that Liverpool should be in the market for.

Having said that, Ramsay appears to be dealing with an unforeseen injury issue. He has finally been able to play a couple of matches for the Reds. But he was absent from Friday’s friendly win over AC Milan.
Of course, that could just be Liverpool being careful. He doesn’t appear to have suffered a reoccurrence of his injury, as he’s been present in training.
Or, it could be that Liverpool feel the need to bring in a more senior back-up as Ramsay works his way to full fitness.
If it is the latter, then Boey would be a good looking option. Still only twenty-two, maybe a move to a Lyon or a Palace might serve him first, as Liverpool continue to monitor his progression.
