RB Leipzig defender and Liverpool target Josko Gvardiol will have a £96m release clause from 2024, according to Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg.
As per 90min, the Reds have recently expressed an interest in signing the 20-year-old World Cup star.
They join the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham on the outskirts, whereas Real Madrid and Chelsea have already spoken with the German club over a prospective transfer.

However, it has now been revealed that the Croatia international will become the most expensive defender from the Bundesliga when his release clause comes into effect in 2024.
As a result, Leipzig believe they will be able to keep the youngster beyond next summer.
Gvardiol will have a £96m release clause
Although Gvardiol has been the subject of heavy transfer interest for a while now, the World Cup has propelled him to the forefront.
Out in Qatar, the centre-back played every single minute of Croatia’s campaign. This included all the games running through to the semi-final defeat to the eventual tournament winners Argentina, and even the third-place play-off against Morocco. Amazingly, the defender even scored a stunning header in their last match to ensure a third-place medal.
As a result, Sky Sports named Gvardiol in their team of the tournament, illustrating just how well the youngster played at his first World Cup.
Hailed by Croatia manager Zlatko Dalic as ‘incredible’, it is no wonder why the biggest clubs across Europe, including Liverpool, are interested in signing the 20-year-old sensation.

Likely to become one of the best centre-backs in world football, £96m for a player with over a decade left at the top level could be seen as a great investment.
The same goes for players like Jude Bellingham and Enzo Fernandez, who the Reds are looking to secure for the club’s long-term future.
