Liverpool have been in regular contact over Adrien Rabiot, according to reports. The Frenchman is out of contract in 2023.
This comes from 90min. They report that Liverpool have consistently looked into signing Adrien Rabiot.
Rabiot is out of contract at the end of the season, where he’s expected to leave Juventus. The Reds are one of several clubs in ‘regular contact’, along with Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Barcelona have also been offered Rabiot. However, it seems that the midfielder prefers a move to the Premier League.
Rabiot may well feature in the World Cup final on Sunday. He’s made a few appearances for France in Qatar – where he’s been on show for any potential new clubs.
Liverpool contact over Adrien Rabiot
Liverpool do need a midfielder or two in 2023. They need one anyway, to be honest, but Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner are all out of contract, too.
Thus it’s vital that the Reds add one or two. Of course, there’s hope that one of those will be Jude Bellingham. He’d cost an absolute fortune, too, so adding a free transfer would seriously help boost the numbers.
And so we’d be in favour of signing Rabiot. There are some other interesting free transfers out there – Youri Tielemans amongst them – but Rabiot could be something special.

He’s enormously experienced and at his best, one of the more talented midfielders in Europe. That kind of player never really comes up as a free transfer.
But Liverpool’s particular need for multiple midfielders makes this a transfer they must consider. There shouldn’t be any surprise that they’re in regular contact. Rabiot would make life easier for the club in more ways than one.
This is one to keep an eye on, then, and we’d expect more news in the New Year.
