Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott has spoken of his motivation to make it into the England team for the World Cup in 2026.
Speaking with Football Daily about the possibility, the 19-year-old claimed he dreams of playing alongside the likes of Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka in a Three Lions shirt.
“I think it’s just motivation, to be honest,” he said.
“The England team in itself now is full of unbelievable talent and unbelievable players.
“So, for myself, it’s whatever England team goes out and plays, well watching it or whether it’s being involved, I feel 100% confident in that they’re going to go out and give it their best.
“As I said, we have unbelievable talent all around the world and a manager now.

“It’s just nice to see such young players being able to get the opportunity; like Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, [Bukayo] Saka – all these players are going to be here for so many more years.
“So, it’s nice and as I said for myself, it’s just motivation to make sure that hopefully I can be in that team, but it’s just all about working hard.
“As I said, it’s a tough team and to be able to get into it is a dream of mine, but there’s a lot of work that I need to be putting into to make sure I even get around the team, let alone inside it.
“It’s just down to me to make sure I put in the effort and the work and hopefully one day I can get there.”
Elliott says he’s using England as motivation
The prospect of seeing Elliott and Bellingham playing alongside each other for England is an exciting thought.
But with the rumours flying around that Liverpool are leading the race to sign the Borussia Dortmund star, the prospect of the pair dictating play in the middle of the park at Anfield is far more exciting.
At just 19-years-old, the two midfielders have incredible futures ahead of them.
Bellingham is obviously much further ahead of Elliott in his development, but that’s not to say the Reds man won’t go on to become an incredible player.

The former Birmingham City gem has already been hailed as ‘sensational’, most recently by former Merseyside favourite Daniel Sturridge, and he has now emerged as one of the best midfielders in world football.
Jurgen Klopp will be hoping Elliott can follow suit, continuing to improve year-in, year-out.
Therefore, with a potential partnership on the club’s hands, Liverpool would have a midfield pairing sorted for the next decade.
