Liverpool defender Nat Phillips has said he’s been practicing his saves whilst out in Dubai for the Reds’ warm-weather training camp.
Speaking with the club’s official site for an interview, the 25-year-old has been keeping himself occupied outside of training by helping Caoimhin Kelleher with his shot-stopping practice.

“I like to have a nap in the afternoon and recover properly, but there is plenty going on – a bit of table tennis,” Phillips explained about the players’ downtime off the pitch.
“Caoimhin [Kelleher] and myself had a few games of head tennis on the beach, badminton and practising our saves in the sea… that sort of thing.
“There is plenty to do over here, so we’re keeping ourselves busy when there is some downtime but it is nice to spend time together.”
Phillips, the new Alisson?
Whenever Phillips has been needed in the starting XI, he has often been the man to come to the rescue.
Although he is not the most technical player you’ve ever seen, despite producing an incredible bit of skill in the Champions League against AC Milan, the defender has always been solid when Jurgen Klopp has had to rely on him.
During the 2020/21 Premier League season, the Reds endured a centre-back crisis. However, up stood Phillips and youngster Rhys Williams – who were the heroes of that campaign, with the side scraping a 3rd place finish.

The 25-year-old received plaudits for his dominant heading ability, as he is always willing to make any type of block.
Available for just £10m, Phillips would be a strong addition to most Premier League squads. Therefore, with the January window just around the corner, this may be the time the defender completes a permanent move away from Anfield.
