The long-term future of Liverpool midfielder Fabinho is in doubt, according to journalist Dean Jones.
Writing for GiveMeSport, he suggests there is uncertainty surrounding the Brazil international, despite the fact he is under contract at Anfield until 2026.

However, it is said that insiders at the Merseyside club do not expect a decision to be made until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old joined the Reds from Monaco back in 2018, in a deal worth £40m. He has since made 191 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Fabinho’s future is in doubt?
Despite these claims, it seems somewhat ridiculous to believe Liverpool would part ways with Fabinho.
At the moment, he is the only senior defensive midfielder at the club. Even if the Reds were to sign a positional peer in January, letting the Brazilian go would still be a silly decision to make.
The 29-year-old may have struggled at times this season, especially since has no-one to be rotated with when needed. As a result, he has looked slow and fatigued at times, demonstrating he requires a rest every so often.
Therefore, an additional holding midfielder would come as a benefit to the Liverpool man – rather than to his hindrance.

Fabinho’s wife has already reacted to these rumours. Taking to the comments on a relayed version of the news, she posted a laughing-crying emoji – ultimately meaning the rumours are likely untrue.
Therefore, even if we see Klopp make a move to sign an additional midfielder in the winter window, the decision he will need to make is who to start in his XI – rather than if Fabinho needs to go. This is especially so, given he believes the player is absolutely ‘outstanding’ in a Red shirt.
