Luis Díaz announced his return to Liverpool training on Tuesday with a five-word message on Instagram. The Colombian is back.

Luis Díaz is finally back in training as Liverpool kickstart their training camp in Dubai. The Reds will get together for the rest of the World Cup to rebuild fitness over the second half of the season.

The hope, of course, is that Liverpool find their best form. We haven’t really seen it over the first half of the campaign and so the Reds can use this time to discover it.

They’re off to the best possible start, too, with Díaz making his return to training. The Colombian has been since the 9th of October and Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat against Arsenal.

He’s now back – something he celebrated with a little post on Instagram.

“Very happy to be back,” he wrote.

We couldn’t be happier that Díaz is back and getting the full benefit of the training camp. Diogo Jota is another who’s there but he won’t be able to fully train, with his expected return date in late January.

Díaz, though, looks ready and raring to go. He’s had rest, now he gets a mini pre-season and he can take on the second half of the season with full fitness.

That’s an advantage he actually shares with most of the first team. Liverpool only had seven players go to the World Cup, with Darwin Nunez bowing out in the group stage. It means that unlike most major clubs, Jurgen Klopp sees most of his players getting this rest before the business end of the season.

Real Madrid, their last 16 Champions League opponents, have most of their best players competing in an intense tournament. Díáz, along with Mohamed Salah, Thiago and Andy Robertson among others, instead got to rest up.

Liverpool will want to make that advantage pay and use this training camp to guarantee it.
