Ismael Bennacer knows the wages he wants from Liverpool, according to reports. The Algerian could leave AC Milan.

Gazzetta Dello Sport journalist Carlo Laudisa says Liverpool are in the running for Ismael Bennacer. Chelsea and Arsenal also want the player, whose contract expires in 2024.

That means AC Milan could be forced into a sale next year. They won’t want to lose the talented Algerian for free and a Premier League side may be the answer to their problems.

“Bennacer’s contract expires in 2024,” Laudisa told Carlo Pellegatti’s YouTube channel. “His agent was also expiring and in the end he chose Enzo Raiola.

“It is said that he wanted to change his agent because he wants a salary higher than the 4.5 million euros that Milan offered him. Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool have put him in their sights.

“His renewal will be an economic battle for Milan.”

So Milan offer around £4m and Bennacer wants more. Liverpool may just be the perfect team to offer it, too, with both Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain out of contract next year.

With that money free on the wage budget, Bennacer’s demands wouldn’t be a problem. Throw in that Milan would likely accept a discounted fee and Liverpool have a potential bargain on the cards.

It’s worth mentioning, too, that both TuttoMercatoWeb and Calciomercato link Liverpool with Bennacer. They certainly seem to believe in Italy that the Reds are after him and in truth, it all makes sense.

Bennacer could be a relatively cheap addition in midfield but a massively talented one. At 24, too, he’s at a perfect age to come in and develop rapidly under Jurgen Klopp.

We really like the idea and neither his wages nor his fee should be a stumbling block in 2023.
