Mohammed Kudus made his mark on the World Cup today as he scored a brace for Ghana. Liverpool are reportedly scouting him.
Ghana got off the mark on Monday as they beat South Korea 3-2 at the World Cup. It was a crazy game and one that saw Mohammed Kudus make some history.
He scored Ghana’s second and third goals, with the latter proving to be the winner. In doing so, Kudus becomes the first Ghanian player to score twice in a World Cup game. A piece of history for the 22-year-old, then.
And that’s something that may just impress the reportedly-watching Liverpool.
Mohammed Kudus at the World Cup
Kudus will have been on Liverpool’s radar anyway after his strike at Anfield this season. The Ajax forward emphatically fired home at the Kop end a few months ago. Of course, his form for Ajax makes him a player for everyone to watch.
Sports World Ghana claims that Liverpool have scouts explicitly watching Kudus at the World Cup, though. That suggests they see him as a potential signing – or someone whose reputation could explode in Qatar. Perhaps a January transfer is on the cards for Kudus.

We already thought Kudus impressed in Ghana’s opener, too. He looked lively, direct and explosive – impossible to stop at times. He’s the kind of player any team would love and is starting to really show that at the World Cup.
The record-breaking brace against South Korea will have everyone standing up to take notice, however. You don’t score twice in a World Cup game without putting yourself on the map and we can’t imagine Liverpool are the only team with eyes on the player.
He’s increasingly looking like one to watch, though. Another good performance in Ghana’s third game and teams will be lining up to sign him.
