Chelsea prepared to make mega money offer to ‘sensational’ player Klopp really wants at Liverpool – journalist

Chelsea are prepared to match any offer Borussia Dortmund receive for reported Liverpool target Jude Bellingham, according to journalist Matt Law.

Speaking on the London Is Blue podcast, the Daily Telegraph correspondent revealed that the Stamford Bridge outfit are willing to financially back any proposed transfer for the 19-year-old.

“Chelsea will bid big for Bellingham, but they are not favourites to sign him,” Law said.

“They will match any bid that is made for Bellingham, but the move won’t just come down to money.”

According to ESPN, Liverpool currently lead the race to land the midfielder’s signature, despite major interest from the Blues, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid.

Chelsea willing to match offers for Liverpool target Bellingham

As per a recent report by The Athletic, BVB value Bellingham at an astonishing £131.7m.

However justified this may be, the Reds will need to absolutely smash their club-record fee, which currently stands at £85.4m, following the summer arrival of Darwin Nunez.

Unlike Chelsea, the Reds cannot afford to get this deal wrong. If they decide to splash the cash and somehow lure the youngster to Anfield, the record signing will need to perform.

Bellingham’s arrival would break the bank at Liverpool, whereas this isn’t necessarily the case for the likes of Man City, Madrid and the west London side.

Despite this, the England international is demonstrating every indicator that he’s worth the money.

Having drawn comparisons to Merseyside legend Steven Gerrard, the teenager has been hailed by former Red Daniel Sturridge as ‘sensational’.

Bellingham is Jurgen Klopp’s number one signing, and the club should do all they can to get him to Anfield.
