Fabinho sends three-word message to Alisson after Brazil’s win at the World Cup last night

Liverpool midfielder Fabinho has reacted to Alisson Becker’s post celebrating Brazil’s win over Serbia last night.

Alisson played the full 90 minutes, keeping a clean sheet as the Serbs were downed 2-0. And taking to Instagram after the game, the Liverpool goalie posted a verse from the Bible, with an accompanying picture of some match action.

“Glory to God,” replied Fabinho, with three clapping hand emojis to top it off.

Liverpool’s No.3 didn’t make it onto the pitch for a World Cup debut on Thursday night. He was, however, involved in the goal celebrations. As the substitutes raced to dance with two-goal hero Richarlison, Fabinho could be seen joining in.

Hopefully we’ll get a glimpse of both our Brazilian Reds when they take on Switzerland on Monday.

Fabinho watches on as Brazil start with a win

As expected, Fabinho looks like he’ll have to make do with a squad role in Qatar. Given his form for Liverpool this season, you can’t blame Tite for that.

Hopefully the 29-year-old can experience some match action at some stage, though. It’s perhaps likely to be his only World Cup, and it would be nice to see him get on the pitch.

And, in spite of all his struggles this season, he’s one of the best around on his day. If he can recapture some good from, he can still be a proper asset for Brazil.

There were signs in his last few games for Liverpool that Fabinho had turned a bit of a corner.

The Reds could perhaps do with him keeping his eye in while he’s away on national duty. If he’s forced to sit out throughout the tournament, the rust could set in again.

With Brazil expected to go deep in the competition, this would mean an extended break with limited football for Fabinho.

As a result, another period of adaptation may follow upon return to Liverpool.

Alisson meanwhile looks set for a key role for Brazil. Although he was largely not needed last night, that won’t always be the case.
