This comes from the Telegraph. They claim that Jurgen Klopp will be integral to Liverpool as they decide on a replacement for Julian Ward. That will likely mean a restructuring of the Reds’ recruitment process.
Ward announced that he intends to leave Liverpool at the end of the season as he wants a break from football. It’s a shock move, with him only moving into the role as the club’s head of recruitment this year.
Klopp, though, is said to be calm about the situation. He’s now seeing the head of recruitment step down in consecutive years after a long period of stability at Liverpool. The German apparently isn’t all that worried about things, however.

Well, you can’t ask for much more. It’s a really difficult situation for everyone at the club as recruitment has been such an integral part of Liverpool’s success under Klopp.
They’ve gotten virtually every signing correct. Their record is arguably the best in the world, in fact, as players continuously arrive and improve dramatically. Klopp may be the main reason for success but that recruitment isn’t too far behind.
Now things are very unclear. Liverpool moved on from Michael Edwards by promoting his experienced assistant. That’s not an option this time around – so it’s hard to tell what the Reds will do.
It also comes as FSG seek investment in Liverpool, of course. Just about everything around the club is uncertain right now, from the boardroom to the players. Jurgen Klopp being calm about the situation is actually quite remarkable and certainly makes us feel better about the whole thing.
