Former France manager Raymond Domenech has named Mohamed Salah as the one Liverpool player he would like to see play for Paris Saint-Germain.

Speaking with Egyptian channel MBC Masr, the 70-year-old hailed praise on the Reds attacker, claiming that he has reached the level of Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

“If we talk about Mohamed Salah, I can only say he is world-class,” Domenech said.

“All the awards that Salah won are fully deserved. It is unfortunate that he will not participate in the 2022 World Cup.

“I would certainly like to see him play for Paris Saint-Germain. A player with this mentality pushes the team forward and is a huge addition.

“He is on a level that only Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe reached, and he embodies what every coach wishes for in a player and will add so much to French football.”

Domenech full of praise for Salah

Whilst this may just be kind words to say about the Anfield favourite, the former France boss is really trying to link Salah with a move to PSG here.

When you look at what he’s contributed since arriving on Merseyside, you can’t actually blame him.

Since signing for the club from Roma back in 2017, the 30-year-old has been Liverpool’s top-scorer in the Premier League for the last five seasons.

In 275 appearances in a Reds shirt, the Egyptian has bagged a sensational 170 goals, in addition to 68 assists.

Therefore, Domenech is spot on in his assessment of the ‘world-class’ player, who luckily graces the pitch at Anfield.

Having become accustomed to Salah’s brilliance over the last few years, fans have occasionally seemed to forget just how crucial the winger is to Liverpool’s success.

Links with the likes of PSG can never be good news for Jurgen Klopp. However, having signed a fresh contract extension with the club over the summer, hopefully we won’t have to see the Reds star in another shirt anytime soon.

Although it is good to feel a Liverpool player compared to the greatest of all time in Messi.
