Adam Lallana shares what Jordan Henderson told him about Jude Bellingham back in 2020. Liverpool supposedly want the midfielder.
Adam Lallana wrote a column for The Times this week discussing the England team heading into the 2022 World Cup. Unsurprisingly, Jude Bellingham came up.
The midfielder is one of the most talked-about players on the planet right now. He appears set to move in 2023 for an enormous amount of money, with Europe’s elite clubs lining up to pry him away from Borussia Dortmund.
That doesn’t shock Lallana, it seems. He’s had an eye on Bellingham since 2020 – ever since Jordan Henderson raved about him.
“I have shown a special interest in Jude since speaking to Jordan Henderson about him a couple of years ago,” says Lallana. “They had trained together with England and I remember Jordan saying to me: ‘Wait until you see this kid’.
“Don’t forget Jordan’s international career has overlapped with Foden, Bukayo Saka, Jack Grealish, Marcus Rashford and lots of others. There was a genuine sense of excitement in his voice.
“His reaction was based on Jude’s attitude and application in training, his willingness to listen. I can picture him being a sponge around someone like Hendo during the camp.”
Jordan Henderson and Jude Bellingham
Honestly, the dream scenario is that Bellingham arrives at Anfield as Henderson’s long-term successor. The fact that the Liverpool captain rates him so highly – and largely for the traits he himself brings – is a fantastic sign.

It should also show why Liverpool are reportedly so desperate to sign Bellingham. Sport Bild are one of those making the claim but everywhere reports it. The Reds’ interest is an open secret.
Not only is Bellingham a magnificent talent but he’s also got the application that clubs love. That application has taken Henderson to the top of the game and if he sees it in the youngster, it’s safe to say that Bellingham has it all.
Positive reports like that from Liverpool players are only going to make the club more eager to sign him.
