Borussia Dortmund players worry that Liverpool’s interest in Jude Bellingham is affecting him, according to reports. The Reds aren’t alone in chasing the player.

This comes from Sport Bild. They claim that Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea all want Jude Bellingham and are pushing hard to get him.

This, however, may be affecting the player. The report claims that teammates see a negative affect on Bellingham’s body language, seeing it as derogatory on the pitch.

With that comes questions about his status as the third captain at Dortmund. That’s now apparently controversial, with problems popping up at the club over it.

And to top it all off, Bellingham’s family are apparently asking the three Premier League giants for concrete proposals. They want to know exactly what’s on the table ahead of talks with the club post-World Cup.

Liverpool’s interest is affecting Jude Bellingham

This is essentially the last thing Liverpool want. They aren’t going to like the look of a player who may be losing his focus with his head turned towards transfers.

At the same time, this is only one report and it’s very gossip-driven. We’re not going to read too much into it and it certainly won’t alter our own stance on Bellingham. We still see him as a perfect signing and the best possible signing for Liverpool this summer.

The line from the Athletic is that Bellingham would cost around £130m as things stand. That could change, however, depending on his World Cup form. A good tournament might push that fee even higher.

A meeting with Dortmund will happen after Bellingham returns from Qatar. It’s going to be a massive one for European football, in truth, what with the standard of clubs hoping to sign him.

We can only hope that Liverpool turn his head firmly towards them – and do it as soon as possible.
