Andy Robertson picked the best signing he’s seen at Liverpool with three clear contenders. The Scot arrived in 2017.
Andy Robertson gave an interview to Pitch Side this week where he answered a plethora of questions. The left-back was more than happy to give his honest opinions, too – including calling out Divock Origi’s dress sense.
One particularly interesting question was about the best player Robertson has seen join Liverpool. He’s been at Anfield for over five years now and sees a clear best signing: Mohamed Salah.
“Obviously, Virgil [van Dijk] was a big one, Alisson was a big one,” said Robertson. “But I think it’s got to be Mo because of the records he’s set and stuff like that.
“I signed the same summer as him – not as much hype was made about me than him, though – but he had a great run and hasn’t really stopped.
“So I’d say, in my time, probably Mo.”

They’re certainly the big three and we wouldn’t begrudge anyone for picking Salah. What he’s done since arriving has been truly astonishing, developing into one of the best we’ve ever seen at Anfield.
Robertson mentions the hype but absolutely no one saw this coming from Salah. We just hoped he’d become a solid option from the right and a good counterpart to Sadio Mané on the left.

What we got was a player who will got down in Liverpool legend. One of the most incredible, hard-working and talented players to ever grace the shirt.
And there’s even more to come. Salah should set more records this year, including Liverpool’s Premier League record for goals. He’s currently the top scorer in the Champions League, too, having set the club record there this season.
A magnificent player and one of the greatest signings in the club’s history.
