‘He is so difficult’: Gabriel Jesus now raves about £150k-a-week Liverpool star after playing against him

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus has raved about Brazil teammate and Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

Taking to an interview with Sky Sports on YouTube alongside Gabriel Martinelli, the 25-year-old lavished praise on the Reds shot-stopper, claiming he is an extremely hard keeper to play against.

“I have played against Alisson in Brazil and he is so difficult. Two times I went against him one-v-one and he defended my shots,” Jesus said.

“They were good shots and he defended them because Alisson is so big.

“Brazil have really good keepers, even with Everton [Soares] in Brazil, he is so good. We are lucky to have them.”

Jesus lavishes praise on Alisson

If any single Liverpool player deserves praise this season, its Alisson.

Without him, the Reds would be lucky to be in the top half of the table.

Despite only making four clean sheets this term, the 30-year-old has made an incredible 47 saves. Having kept out a penalty, the Brazil international has also made five punches, five high claims and eight sweeper clearances this season (via the Premier League).

More impressively, he is yet to make a mistake which has led to a goal. Instead, he has more goal contributions going forward, having made an assist.

Although the plaudits may have gone to the likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk in recent seasons, Alisson has been Liverpool’s most important player this year.

Earning £150,000-a-week, the goalkeeper is crucial to any defensive success Jurgen Klopp’s side have had.

As the Reds have been so poor defensively, it is a miracle the team have only conceded 17 goals this season.

Without him, Liverpool would be in a horrendous situation going into the World Cup break.

Therefore, fans will be hoping he returns from international duty fit and injury-free when he arrives back on Merseyside.
